As a Management Consultant with over 20 years of experience I am operating in high-value, high-growth scenarios focusing on IT Strategy, Digitalization Concepts, and their respective execution. Be it from end-to-end customer lifecycles in the education industry to conceptualizing and implementation of a digital consulting business in the TIC industry, I bring information technology and business together.
With a solid background in business management I have developed a clear focus on cost control and results, while gaining a proven track record of having improved the profitability of my clients.
Analysis, conceptualization, and implementation of IT-based strategies and solutions are my core competencies. Over and above, I bring a wide array of international experience, as well as strong intercultural competence, which I have gained through making multiple projects in the Asia-Pacific successful.
Reppel & Partners (R&P) is supporting SMCs and regional organizations of enterprises in the operation and management of their IT. My personal portfolio comprises CIO services, as well as the business analysis, setup, and implementation of a Shared Services Centre for the APAC organization of a European heavy industry conglomerate. For this customer, I held the role of APAC CIO for 8 years and was able to professionalize and harmonize the way the IT function would be served in the region.
A further area of expertise can be demonstrated through the application of an Industry 4.0 maturity model for industrial customers and the resulting business analysis. Based on the results of this maturity assessment and the successive analysis I would work with selected clients on digital solutions. Clients would decide, based on the consultation, on their course of action, ranging from focused improvements (e.g., predictive maintenance of a centrifugal pump) to game-changing programs ideating and conceptualizing a digital twin of an entire plant (‘Digital Reactor’). One client even wanted to bring concepts of industry 4.0 to their shop floor in the electronics industry. Yet, the analysis and concept led to a new outcome: Government funding support close to 1M$, supporting the transformation of this former commoditized business to becoming an AI-based supplier with superior growth prospects.
A further strong industrial focus is on the educational sector with K12 schools and the college sub-sectors. My applied skills in this industry range from clearly delineated project, such as a request for proposal and the successive selection of a vendor for a data center migration of an international school, via the entire process mapping and management of a large educational institution. all the way to an end-to-end student lifecycle management system (SLMS) for a university. This project ranged from strategic discussions such as ‘make-or-buy’, via ‘platform and extensibility’, to ‘Software-as-a-service (SaaS) off-the-shelf, fit-for-purpose’ solutions. Once the decision for a platform-based system was taken (Reason: extensibility, lesser lock-in), I guided the customer along to a platform-based SLMS that comprised admission, student-life (e.g., time-tabling, etc), through to alumni based on MS Dynamics CRM,.
In the early 2010s I started up and became the Managing Director of Tonbeller Asia Pte Ltd, the APAC arm of Tonbeller AG, a leading anti-fraud (AML , KYC) software company from Germany. This role, combined with the successful transition of Tonbeller Asia’s organization into Fair Isaac Corporation’s (FICO) after a trade sale in 2015, gave me deep understanding of Governance, Risk, and Compliance practices that can applied in industry but are particularly valuable in my T-shaped approach to solutioning: Carrying that broad spectrum of experiences allows me to adopt a lateral, inclusive view on the solution space for a given problem, while going deep on the actual chosen solution and its implementation.
A high number (>65%) of returning customers is a strong indicator of a close and successful link between my work and the success of my clients. This would not have been possible without a deep understanding of the challenges that they face daily and their believe that together we can improve their competitive situation. Various success stories speak for themselves and about how customers see solution-oriented, professional, and value driven consulting in their daily business.
My client’s satisfaction is what drives me. Only when their customers are happy, they will be. And when they are happy, they are satisfied.
